An Emerald & Ivory Wedding at Pecan Springs Ranch || Meggie + Mason

Nov 28, 2021

Welcome to Meggie + Mason’s emerald and ivory wedding at Pecan Springs Ranch! We have truly been looking forward to this special day for what feels like forever!

Meggie + Mason first reached out to us about being their wedding photography team in early March of 2021. Ironically we met with them just a few days before we would tell the wider world about how our family of 2 was about to grow into a family of 3 (thanks to sweet baby Judah!).

We remember telling Meggie we were pregnant and her reply being something to the effect of “If anything this makes me want to work with you two even more!”. That truly meant so much to us – she is just the sweetest!

LOVE & BASKETBALL

Meggie and Mason first met at summer camp when they were kids…how cute is that? Years later they reconnected at TCU while attending a basketball game. It truly was a chance encounter! They spent some time catching up, and Mason left the game telling his friends about how cool Meggie was and how his friends just HAD to meet her!

Basketball continued to be a source of shared joy for Meggie + Mason over the years. They both played basketball at various times (we believe Meggie also played in college if our memory serves correctly), and they even had a “Pop-a-Shot” basketball game brought to the reception so they could shoot some hoops on their wedding day. We love that!

EMERALD & IVORY

We started the wedding day by photographing Meggie’s bridal details (we love the emerald and ivory color pallet!) then moved to some getting ready photos. Meggie’s mom and sister helped her into wedding dress and shared such a special, teary moment together. It was so sweet!

This was our first wedding at Pecan Springs Ranch but not our last in 2022! In fact we have 3 other L+L Couples who are getting married here this year, and we can’t wait to go back! With huge oak trees, a sprawling back lawn and a beautiful reception hall, PSR is a must-tour venue for engaged couples in the Austin area.

For Meggie + Mason’s ceremony we would head to Saint Ignatius Catholic Church near South Congress and Oltorf. This church has so much significance for Meggie as this was the parish her family went to, so it was really special for her and Mason to get to say their vows in such a historic place.

DANCING IN THE MOONLIGHT

Later that evening Meggie + Mason took to the dance floor with “Dancing in the Moonlight” playing for their first dance song. Meggie’s sister (and MOH) Janine gave a knock-out toast that we just loved. She also mentioned that Meggie is a multi-multi-marathon runner – WHAT?! Amazing!

And at the end of the night, after an epic sing-along to “All the Small Things” by Blink-182, the crowd demanded one more song. The DJ couldn’t have chosen better. Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” hit the airwaves, and it was just pure awesomeness.

Moments later, with friends, family and loved ones all around, Meggie + Mason walked out under the dim glow of sparklers and their wonderful wedding came to a close.

THANK YOU’S

A huge thank you is due to Meggie + Mason’s outstanding wedding party! You were all so wonderful and helpful and cooperative, and we are so grateful to you all! Another big thanks to Ginny, Meggie’s mom, for being so kind and welcoming, and the same goes for the rest of the Koch and Henkes crew – we appreciate you all inviting us to take part in the celebration!

To Monica with A Bride a Day Events, you were amazing to work with on this wedding and we are so grateful for all your organization and positivity on the wedding day – you are awesome! To all the other vendors listed, we are so grateful for you all – thank you for all your hard work!

MEGGIE + MASON

Meggie + Mason! Can you believe we are finally here!? We are so thankful to you both for being such wonderful people, outstanding clients and truly great friends. You both have such a glow about you, it’s clear why you have attracted such a warm and generous community of loved ones around you.

Your trust in us to be your wedding photography team, and quite frankly your enthusiasm for us and the art we create means more to us than you will ever know. We are so glad to have met you both, and so honored to have been there to capture the start of what will surely be a lifelong love and marriage. We are truly, truly grateful for you both.

With all the love,

L+L
