This summer wedding at Memory Lane in Dripping Springs is one for the books! Get ready for an emotional first look, a world-class dessert table, and glowy sunset portraits that can only be described as DREAMY! Welcome to Rachel + Ismael’s wedding day!
Dripping Springs definitely earns its nickname as the Wedding Capital of Texas with amazing venues like Canyonwood Ridge, Pecan Springs Ranch and The Alexander at Creek Road all within the city limits. Founded in 2007, Memory Lane purports to be one of the original wedding venues in Dripping and offers couple’s onsite lodging, in-house vendor services, and all-inclusive wedding planning options. Plus they seriously have one of the most spacious and well-lit getting ready suites we’ve seen!
Rachel + Ismael are such a fun couple. Originally from Iowa, Rachel moved to Central Texas 6 years ago and met Ismael while working at one of our favorite Austin eateries, Gourdough’s! (Side note, if you haven’t tried the “Sin a Bomb” from Gourdough’s you are missing out!) A few years later, Ismael recruited Rachel’s sister to help pull off a surprise proposal at Mount Bonnell, and the rest is history!
We always spend just a few minutes giving our couple an idea of what to expect before the first look, just to help them feel a bit more comfortable once the moment arises. Sometimes you can just tell in advance that it’s going to be an epic one. That was definitely the case here.
“You’re going to keep facing this direction,” we told Ismael, “until Rachel says your name. That’s when it’s time to turn around and see your bride for the first time.” He grinned, tears brimming in his eyes. Scroll down to see his reaction to seeing Rachel, it was priceless!
Later we went to photograph reception details and were delighted by the dessert table! This thing had it all: colorful tiers of cupcakes, gourmet rice crispy treats, and a gorgeous wedding cake adorned with macaroons, courtesy of the folks at Fancy Eats & Sweets! Yum!
But our favorite part of the day by far was when we got to sneak Rachel and Ismael out of the reception to capitalize on some truly magical golden light at sunset. Fun and playful, Rachel + Ismael made these portraits a breeze, even being game to wade into some tall grass for those epic wide shots we love so much!
A big, huge thank you is due to the Perales and Lickteig families for being so welcoming and kind on the wedding day! We so enjoyed getting to celebrate Ismael and Rachel alongside all of you, and we are so grateful to have had a front row seat to all the fun on this special day!
To the Memory Lane Team and all the vendors listed below, thank you for all your hard work!
Oh gosh you two. Ya’ll are so awesome. We are so grateful for how much you trusted and embraced us on your wedding day. It’s such an honor to be invited into the celebration, not as a spectator but as a participant, and you all and your loved ones really did that for us. We wish you all the best in life and love, and we hope to cross paths with you again soon!
With love,
L+L
