A Vibrant Le San Michele Wedding || Mary + Logan

We are IN LOVE with this vibrant Le San Michele wedding! The terracotta dresses, the brilliant blue, the wildflowers, the stone architecture – it’s just so dreamy! It’s almost like we stumbled upon a wedding in the french countryside attended by socialites from the golden era of Hollywood! Welcome to Mary + Logan’s wedding blog!

High School Sweethearts

You may remember this L+L Couple from their Mckinney Falls Engagement session, which to this day is one of our favorite sessions ever! These two have such a fun, laid back and playful energy, and it totally comes through on camera. 

Fellow high school sweethearts and just all around great people, Mary and Logan really do have a special place in our hearts, so we have been very, very excited for this wedding!

The Wedding Day (and the Weiner Dog Festival?)

Mary + Logan got married at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda with a reception to follow at Le San Michele, and on a normal Saturday in the sleepy town of Buda, the commute between these venues would have been 5 or so minutes. But as luck would have it, the world famous Buda Weiner Dog Festival was also taking place on the same day, slowing down traffic in every direction.  

But not to worry! When it comes to wedding days our motto is, “Early is on time, and on time is late” so we were able to arrive at Mary’s getting ready VRBO with enough extra time to account for traffic and move up the timeline to ensure we’d have plenty of buffer time when heading to the church. Crisis averted! 

Mary and her wedding crew welcomed us at the VRBO with cheerful excitement for the day to come. After wrapping up hair and make up courtesy of the fine artists at Lux Beauty & Bridal, we did some “in the dress” photos with Mary and her mom, then traveled to the church for a first look with her Dad, Kris – it was such a sweet moment! 

Later, during the ceremony, our ring bearer for the day needed a little extra encouragement to take part in the processional. Mom, Dad and Grandma all gestured to coax him down the aisle and it was so cute!  After a beautiful ceremony and some family portraits, we made our way back to the VRBO for a private cocktail hour and wedding party portraits, before finally arriving to Le San Michele. 

The Perfect Backdrop

Le San Michele is such a gorgeous venue, and the perfect backdrop for this vibrant garden-party wedding. With bluebonnets in full bloom and the sun beginning to set, Mary and Logan mingled their way through cocktail hour, laughing and greeting their guests. With delicious eats courtesy of Taco Bronco and the musical stylings of Pour Vous Entertainment, the reception was ready to begin. 

After toasts and formal dances, Mary + Logan snuck away from the reception for some dreamy golden light sunset portraits, and soon it was time for party dancing. This group knew how to party, and we loved getting to capture all the fun!

A big thank you is due to Megan, our Maid of Honor and now a semi-professional veil wrangler. Megan, some of our favorite shots of the day wouldn’t have been possible without your help, so thank for all you did for us! You’ve got a job as a photography assistant with us any time you want it! 😉

We’d also love to thank everyone from the Carpenter and Horsch families, ya’ll were so welcoming and inviting and made us feel like part of the crew, which we so appreciate! Rita, Camille and Suzanne, thanks for all of your help on the wedding day, and to Kris, thank you for being such a good sport and for all your kind feedback about us as photographers. It means the world! 

A big thanks to the vendor team that made this wedding possible! We have to give a special shoutout to Robert at Pour Vous Entertainment for keeping the party going and doing excellent work as a DJ! You rock, Robert! And to the Le San Michele team, thank you for all your collaboration and support – we can’t wait to return to your venue in the future!

Mary + Logan, we can’t believe your big day already came and went! It seems like yesterday we were chatting over zoom with you guys and getting so excited about the idea of working with you both. There is such a sweetness to the love you two share, and we are so grateful to have gotten to take part in celebrating it. Thanks for trusting us to capture your big day, and for throwing such a fun party to cap it all off. We can’t wait to see the life you two build together, and we’ll be your biggest cheerleaders along the way.
