Welcome to Kim + Marcus’ Wedding Day Blog!!

Honestly guys…where do we even start? There’s so much GREAT stuff to talk about with this wedding!! 

Kim got in touch with us back in June after Marcus proposed, and the more she told us about their story, it became clear these two have that once in a lifetime kinda love. Not only are they high school sweethearts but they met when they were in pre school! I mean, how seriously special and genuinely rare.

The morning of the wedding day started at “The Roost”, a really nice vacation rental in Praha just a few minutes from the church. Lori, Nicole, Karmyn, and the whole crew were there, and we had so much fun getting to spend a few hours with them, photographing details and some candid moments during getting ready. Lee would also like to extend a special thank you to David (Kim’s Dad) who kept him company outside while the girls were in getting ready mode. He wanted me to mention that we included a blog photo of the really cool cistern next to the house especially for you, David! 

Once getting ready was finished, we headed to Saint Mary’s Czech Catholic Church in Praha, Texas. This church genuinely looks like it was plucked out of Central Europe and dropped into the middle of rural Texas. It’s absolutely stunning. The minute we walked inside we were in awe, from the pristine hardwood floors to the immaculately painted ceiling, it is simply grand.

The reception was GORGEOUS! And they did it all themselves! Lori (Kim’s mom) built an INCREDIBLE chandelier to hang in the center of the dance floor, Marcus hand-made wooden frames to hang greenery from the ceiling, and Kim (the interior design genius) orchestrated and planned the whole thing! Honestly, we couldn’t have been more impressed! 

Not only that, Kim + Marcus hired The Grooves as their reception band, which was so cool because we also hired them for our wedding back in 2010! If you need a great wedding band, call Ron at The Grooves because they are amazing!

The reception was a beautiful celebration of Kim and Marcus’ love, with family and friends laughing, dancing and singing together, we were just so thankful to be along for the ride. At the end of the night, Kim and Marcus exited out to their incredible getaway car, surrounded by friends and family throwing “snow” for their grand exit. Amazing!! 

Thanks to Lori, Nicole, Karmyn, David, Tim, Mitchell, and everyone else who helped make this day the wonderful celebration that it was! You all made us feel like part of the family last weekend, and for that we are truly thankful!

Kim + Marcus, congratulations on being married!! We are genuinely so thankful to have met the two of you, and so honored that you trusted us to capture your wedding day. You both clearly share a deep love and companionship that will last a lifetime, and the love your families have for the two of you is really heartwarming and special. We hope to see you again soon!
