A Warm Fall Celebration at Canyonwood Ridge in Dripping Springs

Jun 17, 2026

Some weddings have a personality all their own from the very first detail, and Michelle + Daniel’s September celebration at Canyonwood Ridge was absolutely one of them. Burnt orange and sage florals, a live band, mariachis, a cobbler bar: it was warm, deeply personal, and completely, unapologetically theirs.

As a Canyonwood Ridge wedding photographer, we’ve had the privilege of documenting some truly meaningful days at this venue — and this one will stay with us for a long time.

A Proposal Hidden in Plain Sight

Michelle had been very clear about one thing: she didn’t want a public proposal. So Daniel took notes, and then completely outsmarted her.

He organized what appeared to be a baby shower and quietly invited every one of her closest family members and friends. Under a beautiful, secluded tree, in a moment that felt entirely private, he got down on one knee. And then they walked back inside to find everyone waiting.

It was the kind of proposal that turns into a story people will still be telling years from now. And it set the tone perfectly for a wedding day that was just as thoughtful, just as personal, and just as full of people who love them well.

How Canyonwood Ridge Won Them Over

Michelle + Daniel had originally had their hearts set on a destination wedding. Then they walked into Canyonwood Ridge, and that was that.

It was the windows that did it. The soaring floor-to-ceiling windows in the ceremony space pour light into the room in a way that feels almost ethereal, and the moment they saw them, the destination idea quietly disappeared. The beauty was already here.

The Colors of a Texas Fall

Their palette started as terracotta and sage but evolved into something even richer: a deep, warm burnt orange paired with lush greenery and cream that felt exactly like a Texas September should.

Wild Bunches Floral brought the vision to life beautifully. Michelle and Daniel came to their first meeting without strong opinions about specific flowers, just a feeling, a warmth they wanted the day to have. Wild Bunches worked from their color preferences and created something that went beyond what either of them had imagined. The florals throughout, from the lush ceremony arch to the sweetheart table draped in greenery and candlelight, had that cozy, abundant feeling that makes fall weddings feel like the best kind of evening at home, just elevated in every possible way.

The bridesmaids in their Kennedy Blue gowns, each one choosing her own style, added to the warmth of the palette, while the groomsmen’s tuxedos with bow ties matched to the bridesmaid dress color kept everything feeling polished and cohesive.

The Details That Made the Day

The sweetheart table at the stone fireplace, wrapped in greenery, candlelight, and warm florals with a glowing neon “Mr. & Mrs. Campos” sign overhead, was one of those reception moments that stops guests in their tracks. It felt intimate even in the middle of a full celebration.

One of the most meaningful extras of the day was Rachel English, their live painter, who worked throughout the evening capturing everything on canvas. The first thing Michelle and Daniel did when they got home from their honeymoon was hang the painting. That’s the kind of detail that becomes a family heirloom.

And then there was the food. They were intentional about keeping the evening feeling festive rather than formal: fajitas for dinner, a cobbler bar for dessert (warm cobbler with ice cream, which is, to put it plainly, the right choice). The groom’s cake from Sweet Trees Bakery leaned hard into the Friday the 13th theme, spooky details and all, and it was a hit.

The Music That Filled the Room

Michelle and Daniel had first encountered a live band at Daniel’s brother’s wedding and knew immediately that nothing else would do. Cap City Band delivered everything they’d hoped for: warmth, atmosphere, and a room full of people who were genuinely glad to be there together.

The mariachis added something else entirely: a layer of tradition, color, and sound that made the evening feel full in a way that’s hard to put into words.

It was a reception that felt meaningful in the truest sense. Guests who showed up for them, a couple who were completely present with every person in that room, and music that held everyone close all night.

Why We Love Photographing at Canyonwood Ridge

Canyonwood Ridge is one of the most photographically stunning venues in the Texas Hill Country, and we fall in love with it all over again every time we’re there. The ceremony room with its soaring windows and warm stone finishes creates images that feel timeless and elevated. The surrounding oak trees and grounds give portraits a lush, natural quality. And the reception spaces have just enough architectural detail to make every moment feel designed.

Add in a couple with Michelle + Daniel’s warmth and quiet intention, and it makes for a wedding day that is genuinely a gift to photograph.
