A Romantic Florida Keys Wedding at The Oasis in Islamorada

May 27, 2026

There’s something undeniably magical about a wedding in the Florida Keys, and Addison + Guyot’s celebration at The Oasis in Islamorada was the perfect example of why we love photographing destination weddings so much. From the soft coastal color palette to the candlelit reception beneath string lights and palm trees, every part of their wedding weekend felt elevated, intentional, and deeply personal.

As an Islamorada wedding photographer, one of our favorite things about destination weddings is getting to fully immerse ourselves in the experience alongside our couples — and this wedding was especially memorable for us. Excited to make the most of this trip to the Florida keys, we turned the trip into a little family getaway of our own, bringing along our son so we could make some memories with him before and after documenting such an incredible celebration in one of the most beautiful places in Florida.

A Private Amsterdam Proposal Along the Canals

Before their wedding day even began, Addison + Guyot already had one of the most romantic proposal stories ever. During a trip to Amsterdam, Guyot arranged a completely private canal tour at sunset, complete with a hidden photographer, multiple dinner stops along the canals, and a carefully planned proposal moment timed perfectly to a special song.

The proposal happened on the back deck of the boat just after sunset as they floated through the canals of Addison’s favorite city in the world. The entire evening was intimate and intentional — exactly the kind of feeling that carried through into their wedding day, too.

Why They Chose The Oasis in Islamorada

Addison + Guyot chose The Oasis in Islamorada because it allowed them to create an entire wedding weekend experience instead of just hosting a single-day event. The property included both a main house and guest house, allowing them to stay onsite with close friends and family throughout the week while also hosting their rehearsal dinner and post-wedding brunch there.

And honestly? We completely understood the moment we arrived.

The Oasis is one of those venues that instantly makes you slow down and take everything in. The tropical landscaping, ocean views, warm coastal air, and relaxed luxury atmosphere made it feel like the perfect setting for the kind of timeless beach celebration they envisioned.

An Elevated Beach Party With Timeless Details

Their vision for the wedding was “light, classic, and timeless” while still feeling like an elevated beach party. Rather than competing with the natural beauty of Islamorada, they leaned into it beautifully with a soft palette of sand tones, whites, and light blue details inspired by the beach itself.

White roses and baby’s breath were incorporated throughout the design, including a stunning floral ceremony arch that became one of the visual centerpieces of the entire day. String lights overhead and cold sparklers later in the evening helped transform the property into a romantic coastal reception space that felt elegant while still incredibly welcoming.

One thing we especially loved was how cohesive the entire design felt without ever feeling overdone. Every detail felt intentional, refined, and true to them.

Meaningful Family Traditions Throughout the Day

As beautiful as the wedding was visually, what stood out most to us were the deeply personal moments woven throughout the day.

Addison wore her late grandmother’s wedding ring on her pointer finger — the only time she has ever worn it. It was such a meaningful way to honor someone so important to her while also carrying a piece of family history into the next chapter of her own life.

Music also played a huge role throughout the celebration. From their first dance to “Yours” by Russell Dickerson to emotional parent dances tied to childhood memories and family traditions, every song carried significance. Those moments always end up being some of our favorites to photograph because they hold so much real emotion behind them.

Photographing This Wedding as an Islamorada Wedding Photographer

One of the biggest things we’ll remember about this wedding — beyond how stunning it was — is simply how wonderful Addison + Guyot were to spend time with throughout the weekend. They were warm, kind, joyful, and completely present with the people around them, which always creates the best atmosphere for a wedding day.

Destination weddings have a different rhythm to them. Everyone slows down a little more. People stay together longer. The experience becomes about more than just the wedding day itself. That was absolutely true here, and documenting it all at The Oasis in Islamorada was such an honor for us.

If you’re planning a Florida Keys celebration and searching for an Islamorada wedding photographer, we truly can’t recommend this area enough. Between the ocean views, tropical atmosphere, and relaxed luxury feel, it’s such an incredible place for a destination wedding weekend.
