“We’re brave souls. See you in the morning!”

Any day you get to photograph an engagement session at Mount Bonnell is a good day, but this one was ESPECIALLY great! There is SO much to share about this engagement session, we don’t even know where to begin!! 

First of all, these two are awesome. Full stop. Laurel + Aaron are SO our people, from a mutual affection (okay let’s call it what it is, a borderline obsession) with our respective felines, to a love of nature and hiking, not to mention a passion for house plants and a fondness for the San Antonio Spurs – we just really connect with these two!

Laurel and Aaron have known us for a quite a while, thanks to them participating in not one but TWO previous L+L Weddings! In fact, you might be able to spot Laurel kicking it to the cupid shuffle in the reception photos from Shannon + Colt’s wedding at Texas Old Town last year!

We were beyond thrilled when Laurel reached out about us being their wedding photographers, and our excitement doubled when she decided to surprise Aaron with an engagement session at Mount Bonnell!

Since we only photograph Mount Bonnell at sunrise (helps to avoid the crowds which can be a bit distracting for our couples), Laurel + Aaron decided to make a weekend out of it. They stayed in a chic hotel and enjoyed delicious food from around the city before waking up at the crack of dawn to come take some photos with us. 

The weather forecast was looking a little sketchy headed into Monday morning, but these two would NOT be deterred! I believe Laurel’s exact words were, “We’re brave souls. See you in the morning!” 

Thankfully, the rain stayed away and even though we had a bit more early morning fog than usual, Laurel + Aaron lit up the session with their wonderful charisma, humor and love for each other! Make sure to check out Laurel’s absolutely stunning emerald engagement ring (it belonged to her Mother), and their custom label for a bottle of champagne, which means (you guessed it) there’s a champagne pop in here too! 

To Laurel + Aaron, thanks for being such great people, for being brave souls, for rolling with us through the (potential) rain, and for inviting us to join you on your wedding journey! You two are so much fun, and we’re so thankful to get to help celebrate the start of your marriage in February, along with Clarissa, Tony, Shannon, Colt and the whole crew!
