We are thrilled to share that Mackenzie + Sean’s black tie wedding at Villa Antonia has been published in the 2023 Spring/Summer issue of Brides of Austin! We were so honored to be part of this wedding, both because Mackenzie and Sean are such a great couple, but also because they assembled a really awesome team of vendors to help make the day a success.

The Perfect Venue

It’s hard to overstate what a legendary wedding venue Villa Antonia is. And even before we became wedding photographers, Villa Antonia had a special place in our hearts, because it was one of our top choices when we were planning our own wedding more than a decade ago. Built in 1999 and under new leadership as of January 2022, Villa Antonia is brimming in elegant romance. The architecture practically sings and the view of the hill country inspires. It’s the perfect venue.

A Quiet Moment Alone

Fellow high school sweet hearts and cat lovers (like us), Mackenzie and Sean worked with Adriana from Red Book Events to plan an elegant and classic wedding day that still felt unique to them and their love story.

During our consultation call, Mackenzie told us about all the things she was looking forward to on her wedding day, but chief among them were the quiet moments when she and Sean would be able to have a moment alone. An opportunity for them to really take it all in and focus on each other.

For Sean it was seeing his future wife in her dress for the first time, and sure enough, his first look with Mackenzie was a truly beautiful moment. A quiet moment alone, just the two of them when they could take it all in. Some of our favorite photos from the day!

Classic and Sophisticated

We started off the wedding day by photographing some of the venue, bridal and floral details while Mackenzie and her bridesmaids finished up getting ready. We were delighted to see beautiful lush greenery on the Villa Antonia grand staircase courtesy of our friends at Native Bloom, along with no shortage of florals at the ceremony as well. One of our favorite elements was also the custom signage from Pens & Needles Co – so classic and sophisticated, we love it!

The ceremony was beautiful and elegant. Mackenzie walked down the aisle to Somewhere Only We Know (one of our favorite songs!) and now we were the ones trying not to get emotional! The reception was lively and fun, and Mackenzie + Sean spent their first few hours of marriage celebrating with the people they love most. It was a perfect night!
