Jenna and Matt’s spring wedding was a true celebration of love, surrounded by the stunning beauty of Texas bluebonnets in full bloom. Their wedding ceremony took place at LifeAustin Chapel, a perfect venue that showcased the natural splendor of bluebonnets in springtime, followed by a lively and joyful celebration at Hotel Zaza, the perfect downtown Austin reception venue.
Jenna meticulously planned her wedding around the blooming season of bluebonnets, and her timing couldn’t have been better. As a born and raised Texan, Jenna’s love for bluebonnet season paid off with a historic “superbloom” of bluebonnets and other native wildflowers, creating a breathtaking backdrop for their wedding party and couple portraits. If you’re looking for wildflowers and bluebonnets for your spring wedding, LifeAustin Chapel is an amazing choice!
Matt proposed to Jenna on a beach in Rockport, Massachusetts, where they had one of their first dates a few years prior. The proposal was a complete surprise to Jenna, despite some obvious signs looking back. That morning, Jenna was late to everything Matt had planned (unknowingly), but the day turned perfect with just the two of them on the beach. After the proposal, they enjoyed oysters and lobster rolls for lunch, bought a painting from a local art shop, and returned to Boston for a surprise celebration with friends. The proposal was a beautiful and memorable start to their journey together.
Jenna’s vision for the wedding day was “modern Texas garden.” She aimed to tie in the bluebonnets and Hill Country to the funky downtown Austin and urban vibes of Hotel ZaZa. Her wedding gown, an all-lace fit-and-flare by Allison Webb, was timeless and classic. The bridesmaids wore dresses in various shades of blue, creating a cohesive yet comfortable look, while the groomsmen donned classic black tuxedos, perfectly complementing the wedding’s modern Texas garden theme.
Jenna walked down the aisle to “All I Ask of You” from Phantom of the Opera, a song that holds special meaning for the couple, especially Matt, as a tribute to his late father. Jenna had a picture of her dad, who had also passed, pinned to her bouquet, keeping his memory close as she walked down the aisle. Additionally, two white roses were placed on the altar during the ceremony to honor both Jenna’s and Matt’s fathers.
Music played an important role throughout the wedding weekend – after all, we are in the live music capitol! They had a live band at their welcome drinks the night before the wedding, Sienna Strings Quartet played during the ceremony, and John Prather entertained guests with his vocal stylings and acoustic guitar during cocktail hour and the reception.
Speaking of which, the reception was held at the elegant Hotel Zaza in downtown Austin, offering a blend of Hill Country charm and urban vibes. Most of Jenna + Matt’s guests traveled from out of state, and the cool vibes of Hotel Zaza mixed with the live music gave them a perfect taste of Austin’s vibrant culture. The night was filled with dancing, laughter, and celebration.

Lastly, Bouquets of Austin, the talented florists for Jenna and Matt’s wedding, truly outdid themselves. The floral arrangements were nothing short of spectacular, adding vibrant touches to an already stunning setting. Thank you for all your hard work!
Jenna and Matt’s wedding was not just a union of two hearts, but a beautiful blend of love, the beauty of springtime nature and impeccable planning. The timing of the bluebonnets was perfect, making their spring wedding at LifeAustin Chapel a day to remember forever. We are so grateful to have been there to capture it!!
With love,
