This Indian and Western fusion wedding is a masterclass in how combining multiple cultural styles can create a truly unique and beautiful wedding experience! Get ready to feast your eyes on colorful reception decor, gorgeous henna art, and some deliciously sweet treats at cocktail hour. Welcome to Hiba + Creston’s delightfully vibrant Indian and Western fusion wedding at Villa Antonia!
Though we’ve shot quite a few weddings at the legendary Villa Antonia, this one has a special place in our hearts thanks to the intentional care Hiba + Creston put into curating a truly unique and meaningful wedding celebration that reflected their cultural backgrounds.
Couples who seek to blend several wedding traditions will know that it’s no small task, but these two worked hard to find the right balance between tradition and self expression, curation and flexibility.
To her endless credit, Hiba was a highly organized and prepared bride, working to communicate with vendors well in advance of the wedding day to ensure that all parties had the information they needed to do their jobs with excellence.
Even better, when the wedding day came, Hiba was as calm and as graceful as could be, secure in the knowledge that she had armed her vendor team with everything they needed to help her and Creston have an idyllic wedding day.
Hiba + Creston met when they were in school at Georgia Tech. Both computer engineering majors, they met in an unlikely place: a ballroom dancing class. Quick side note: they did incorporate their considerable ballroom dancing skills into the first dance and later on the open dance floor, and it was truly a sight to behold!
Creston, a man of few words (but also of grand gestures), asked Hiba to be his wife in a field of bluebonnets. For their engagement session we incorporate bluebonnets at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, and it was gorgeous!
Hiba + Creston didn’t see each other the morning of the wedding until the First Look on the upper pavilion at Villa Antonia. For the first look Creston wore a traditional groom’s outfit and sherwani, and his expression when he saw his bride in her saree was just amazing.
Later, Creston lead a mini-baraat from the main building at Villa Antonia to the chapel where the ceremony would be held. Hiba’s parents walked down the aisle with floral garlands they would later offer as gifts to Creston’s parents. Soon after, Hiba walked down the aisle under a beautiful floral canopy carried by her cousins.
The ceremony featured readings from multiple religious texts and personal vows written by the couple, culminating in a perfect first kiss to the cheers of onlooking friends and family.
Self-professed foodies, Hiba + Creston surprised their guests with some delicious treats during cocktail hour, including yummy churros from Churro Burro and colorful cotton candy from Fancy Fluff.
The reception as a whole featured lots of colorful details. Place settings included pink name cards, centerpieces had pops of orange and pink floral, and instead of numbers, guest tables were marked with brightly colored tracings of animals to designate which table was which. Such a fun and creative idea!
Lastly, one visually stunning aspect of this wedding was the beautiful henna provided by Nisha Henna Arts. Hiba and her bridesmaids all had henna done the day before the wedding – we think
