We’re so excited to share Marlee + Gavin’s joy-filled wedding celebration at the Old Mill Resort at Gruene!

Not gonna lie – driving down to the Old Mill was a total surprise! We’ve been to Gruene multiple times over the years, and have even photographed clients at Gruene Hall once or twice, but we’d never been down behind the lively section of downtown Gruene to the area with all the riverview resorts. We had no idea there was such a thriving resort community there! 

The day was a bit cloudy and honestly pretty darn windy, but we were still able to do some really fun bride and groom portraits with Marlee + Gavin, as well as some natural light formal portraits with their family and loved ones. This was a super fun and lighthearted group of people who made us feel welcome and trusted our direction from minute one! What a gift to spend such a special day with these folks!!

Like many couples last year, Marlee and Gavin had to reschedule their wedding not once but twice, so this was technically their 3rd wedding day but they approached everything with enthusiasm and totally chill attitudes. After all, they were already husband and wife – they snuck off to Cancun to get married last year, so this day was all about celebrating their marriage with family and friends – and celebrate we did! 

We have to take a quick moment to give a shout out to Grandma Lee (yes you read that right). Marlee’s Grandmother is also named Lee, and as you can imagine Lee and her just instantly clicked on the wedding day. She was such a sweetheart, and we were so thankful for the chance to have met her! 

And any blog write up of this wedding celebration wouldn’t be complete without a major mention, shoutout and thank you to Judy, our Mother of the Bride for the day and all-around wedding coordinating extraordinaire! Seriously, if you ever find yourself in need of a coordinator (or someone to get everyone hyped on the dance floor) Judy is your gal!

Congratulations, Marlee and Gavin! You two are genuinely the epitome of a couple with grit, who lean on each other in the unknown and refuse to let unexpected circumstances and setbacks get you down. We admire your perseverance, your total chillness in the face of uncertainty, and we’re glad you got to have an epic wedding celebration surrounded by the people who love you most. And we’re so, so thankful that you invited us along for the ride to turn some memories into images for you! We hope you enjoy them, and we wish you the best in your many years of marriage to come!
