Welcome to Destinnee + Chance’s wedding blog, and to the first wedding on the new L+L Blog!
We have to start by saying there has never been a better day for an outdoor wedding. The weather was out of this world amazing. Temperatures in the seventies…in Texas!? Yes, read that again, in Tejas. Sign us up for all of the Fall weddings because it truly can’t be beat. Seriously, Destinnee + Chance picked the most beautiful day to get married!!
And honestly, it’s more than fitting because these two are so sweet together. We weren’t able to have an engagement session with D+C so we met Destinnee in person for the first time in early October when we went to tour Elm Creek Ranch before the wedding day. This is something we love to do with all of our couples because it gives us a good idea of their vision for the wedding day, plus it helps us get familiar with the venue if it’s new to us.
During the tour, Destinnee told us all about how she imagined their day, and the adorable story of how Chance proposed. From that story alone we knew everything we needed to know about Chance – he’s the type of guy who wants to make sure his bride gets the proposal and wedding she’s always hoped for. He made sure their parents were involved and when things got off course he did everything he could think of to stall and get them back on track.
We didn’t get to meet Chance until the wedding day, but he was super welcoming, funny, easy-going, and up for whatever photo-adventures came his way. Basically the best kind of Groom, especially (and most importantly) because it was very clear he LOVES Destinnee.
And it gets better… they have the most gorgeous, sweet and obedient dog. Yes, she was in the wedding and yes she wore a toto. Also, we have to mention one hilarious detail: her name is Lacie! All day long Lee said he was hearing people say, “Come here, Lacie!” or “Lacie, here girl!” and he had to stop himself from doing a double-take to see why people were talking to me like that. So funny!!
Thanks to everyone who helped make this beautiful wedding day possible! Leisel, Brittani, Brande, Marissa, Kelsey, Josh (the sun-blocker!), and all the amazing vendors who were so gracious to work with. We appreciate you all and are so thankful for the chance to work with you!
Destinnee + Chance: you two are awesome. Full stop. Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your wedding day and for trusting us to capture all the moments big and small that made it such a joyous experience. We are rooting for you two as you begin the long and beautiful journey of marriage, and we hope to cross paths with you again soon!
With all the love,
Lacey + Lee
